Today, we're excited to share that <Human id="gaby-garcia"/> is joining the team.

Gaby is a full-cycle recruiter and natural builder who combines a people-first approach with strategic sourcing, strong hiring partnerships, and a passion for creating thoughtful, scalable recruiting processes. With a background in Psychology, she brings curiosity and empathy to her work and continually looks for ways to improve how teams hire.

She's spent the last 5 years at Automattic hiring engineers and designers, so she's well acquainted with developers and the DevTools space and we're excited to bring her expertise to our hiring process.

## More about Gaby

**How did you get into recruiting?**

I’ve always liked people. 

I’m a psychologist turned recruiter, though recruiting wasn’t something I planned from the start. After working in social psychology, I found myself ready for a change. I came across a recruitment opportunity almost by chance and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a lovely fit: I still get to be curious about people, listen to their stories, and help them find opportunities where they can thrive.

**What does your desktop/home screen look like?**

As an avid reader, currently reading fantasy I find this background appropriate.

**Why are you at Resend?**

I’m excited by what we’re building and, just as much, how we’re building it. The focus on culture and growing together really stood out to me. As a recruiter, I love helping people find a place where they can do meaningful work, learn from one another, and feel like they belong. I’m excited to help Resend grow while being part of that kind of team myself.

**Where do you find #inspiration?**

I find inspiration in art in all its forms. I’ve always been an avid reader, deeply enjoy music, and love pottery and, more recently, Ikebana and playing with negative space. But I think my biggest sort of inspiration are the people I get to connect with every day. 

In recruiting, I get to hear stories every day about the paths people have taken and what matters to them, and those conversations often stay with me.

**If you weren't recruiting, what would you be doing?**

I’d probably be volunteering with teenagers. I’ve always loved teaching and helping people discover what they’re capable of. That’s part of what drew me to social psychology in the first place, and it’s something I still find really rewarding. 

**Favorite place to visit?**

The Argentinian Patagonia!

**Advice for ambitious recruiters?**

Never stop learning, and stay open to feedback. No matter how experienced you are, there’s always room to grow. Surround yourself with people who are great at their craft, learn from what they do well, and bring your own flavor to it. And most importantly, remember what it feels like to be on the other end of the call. You can be ambitious and still lead with kindness.
